Tayler Raven Hanxi Bunge is a writer, teacher, and student who was born in China and raised in Arvada, Colorado. Her writing is often about adoption, bodies, and the American suburbs. Published work can be found in McSweeney’s, Isele Magazine, Barrelhouse, Mochi Mag, Vagabond City Lit, Ghost City Review, and elsewhere. Her short story “Glowworm” was selected for publication in the Best of Isele Anthology. She won the Southeast Review’s World’s Best Short-Short Story Contest - Judged by Venita Blackburn (2025), and has received the Francis J. Malecek, S.J. Award for excellence in philosophy.

She has made homes in Denver, Nashville, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, and Charlottesville. She earned her dual BA in English and Philosophy from Regis University and is a current MFA Candidate in Fiction at the University of Virginia.

She is an Assistant Fiction Editor at The Offing, works as an advertising and communications consultant, and in past lives was a taco server, daycare assistant, Uber driver, and church pianist.
